A travelling Moon exhibition, known as the Museum of the Moon is coming to Peel Cathedral!

Open from 9 February to 2 March 2025, this remarkable art installation by artist Luke Jerram showcases a 7-foot sculpture of the moon, accompanied by a series of events that explore its significance across cultures and its impact on sustainability.

Luke Jerram is known for his ‘Giant Earth’ installation, Gaia, which was housed in St Thomas’ Church last year.

The Moon’s influence on the planet’s ecosystems and rhythms is a key theme, highlighting its connection to the natural world. The exhibition encourages reflection on the importance of preserving both our environment and the wonders of the universe.

The exhibition provides an opportunity to engage with sustainability themes through art, science, and culture. Visitors can participate in a range of activities, including concerts, workshops, and educational talks, encouraging a deeper understanding of our place both within the biosphere and beyond.

This exhibition has been made possible thanks to the Isle of Man Arts Council Extraordinary Events Fund. For more information about the various events and how to get involved, visit the Cathedral Isle of Man website.
