Beach Buddies was created in the Isle of Man in 2006, and has set world standards for beach cleaning.

The registered charity now focuses attention on education in schools and how to tackle the problem at source, encouraging children to educate parents.

Beach Buddies has established branches in numerous countries and is inspiring new volunteer groups all over the world to tackle the problem of beach pollution through education.

Culture Vannin has a strong and proud history of supporting and promoting Manx culture through development, education and grant-giving work since it was established as the Manx Heritage Foundation by Act of Tynwald in 1982.

Culture Vannin works to promote Manx culture in inclusive, engaging and creative ways. Its development work focuses on Manx language, music and dance, and on promoting culture online and for educational purposes.

The Department of Education, Sport and Culture operates the Island’s 37 schools, University College Isle of Man, Manx Sport and Recreation and the NSC and regional swimming pools and is the sponsoring department for the Isle of Man Arts Council.

Schools have seamlessly linked in UNESCO and UBIOM themes into pupils learning journeys. The E in UNESCO stands for education.

Many schools are active in Eco Schools and Manx language and culture is promoted wherever possible throughout their learning. The Isle of Man Essentials for Learning curriculum reflects this commitment.

IoD Isle of Man is composed of 250 directors, aspiring directors and senior decision makers. The branch supports members with professional development, and through connect and influence events.

IoD Isle of Man strives to offer members the opportunity to refresh, share and acquire new knowledge, which is supported by the renowned IoD Professional Development programme. The IoD is run by directors, for directors and has created a strong business community on Island.

The Isle of Man Arts Council exists to promote the Island’s cultural and creative identity, encouraging enjoyment of, and participation in, the arts.

A sponsored body of the Department for Education, Sport and Culture, it offers grants, sponsorship and underwriting to a wide variety of individuals, schools, groups and venues across the community.

It delivers the National Development Strategy for Culture and the Arts in partnership with Culture Vannin.

The Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce is a dynamic, high profile business network of members representing all key sectors of the economy.

For more than 60 years, Chamber has been the Island's leading advocate and champion for business with a focus on creating a climate of growth and success in our community.

Chamber provides leadership, networking opportunities and business-building initiatives that focus on the critical priorities of our business community.

Isle of Man Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group encourages the support of wildlife alongside commercial food production, through farm walks, countryside activities and evening talks.

FWAG looks forward to the opportunities and challenges of the new Agri-Environment Scheme, for a greater focus on wildlife on our Island's farms.

It celebrates its work as custodian of the Manx countryside with an annual farm award, the Manx Chough Award, the holder going forward for the Silver Lapwing Trophy in the UK.

The Municipal Association was formed over 100 years ago to provide a forum of local authorities.

The main aim is to benefit the residents of the Island by working together, sharing ideas, strategies and resources where possible, and to address problems by raising greater awareness prior to decisions being made with economic, political, environmental and social impacts.

The association enjoys a regular dialogue with Government Ministers and officers.

Locate Isle of Man is part of the Isle of Man Government, Department for Enterprise. The team at Locate work with stakeholders across all sectors to identify and fill skills gaps, encourage inward investment and increase the economically active population of the Isle of Man. Locate showcases the Island, its environment and its people as a sustainable, diverse, innovative and welcoming community in which to live and work.

The Manx Fish Producers Organisation represents the majority of the Manx fishing industry. It is progressive, innovative and science-led, with fishing vessels landing high-quality products as well as acting as research platforms, collecting data for future management.

The MFPO favours efficient, targeted, fishing activity with reduced sea-bed disturbance and a commitment to a sustainable marine environment.

The next step in this process is the co-management, with DEFA, of the inshore waters.

The Manx National Farmers’ Union is the most successful representation body for agriculture and horticulture, its membership covering over two-thirds of the Isle of Man’s agricultural land.

It represents farmers and growers supporting agriculture and its principal activities are to champion Manx farming by providing representational and professional services to our members.

It also lobbies to ensure the farmers’ voice is heard at the heart of government, both in the Isle of Man and across the UK and Europe.

Manx National Heritage is a Manx registered charity, originally founded in the 19th century through an Act of Tynwald. 

It exists to take the lead in protecting, conserving, making available and celebrating the Island’s natural and cultural heritage for current and future generations, while contributing to the Island’s prosperity and quality of life.

Manx Wildlife Trust, founded in 1973, is the Isle of Man’s leading nature conservation charity.

Its members, staff and volunteers support it to protect Manx wildlife for the future by driving the development of a Nature Recovery Network to create more places for wildlife, championing nature-based solutions to enable nature to improve the environment for all and connecting people strongly to nature and inspiring them to act for wildlife.

The Children’s Centre is an Isle of Man charity that helps children, young people and families in times of need and hardship.

It provides a wide range of services from its 17-acre therapeutic farm located just outside Douglas.

It is an environmentally considerate charity. The farm is solar powered and is pioneering a range of initiatives including grey water capture, on-site composting and the introduction of bees and pollinators.

The Green Centre, based in the Chester Street Complex in Douglas, is run by three local organisations: Zero Waste Mann, Isle of Man Friends of the Earth and Manx Energy Advice Centre. It is open every Saturday and available for meetings on other days. University College Isle of Man has a long-standing reputation for excellence in training and education on the Isle of Man.

It prides itself for providing transformational learning opportunities which inspire, challenge and empower students, through the broad range of courses it offers, including academic, vocational and professional options, as well as leisure and recreation.

UCM provides over 300 further education courses, which cover a variety of subject areas. Its higher education provision includes HNCs, HNDs and MBAs, and degree level courses are awarded by the University of Chester.

UCM offers more than 200 adult leisure courses that cover a variety of topics, including creative arts, wellbeing and languages.

Visit Isle of Man is responsible for promoting the Isle of Man as a quality leisure tourist destination, through implementing a range of strategies directed towards increasing the economic and social benefits from tourism and the visitor economy.

Underpinning the quality of life that we experience, the Islands’ tourism industry is vital in promoting the Island as a great place to live, work and visit.
