UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man helped Beach Buddies to celebrate a significant milestone last week.
10K Day as held at Niarbyl to mark the charity's 10,000th volunteer.
Western schools took part in beach cleans and activities laid on by charities.
UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man took part and DEFA also used the event to educate people about the Isle of Man Government's work to reduce the use of, and harm to the environment caused by, plastics.
Beach Buddies' patron, His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor, attended and signed up as a 'Biosphere Buddy'.
At the event, Beach Buddies announced it will host an environment conference in May 2019.
The charity's founder, Bill Dale BEM, said: 'We hope it will be a really big event, as so many people are so concerned about the environment, nature and wildlife and want to find out as much information as they can about it what they can do to make a difference.'
