Why should local businesses care about the Sustainable Development Goals?
That’s the question Steve Kenzie, Executive Director of the UN Global Compact UK Network, will be answering in a free breakfast talk at the Sefton Hotel, Douglas, on Friday 6th September.
Steve has been invited to the Island by the One World Centre, the Isle of Man’s development education charity, as part of its awareness-raising activities around global issues that affect us all.
He will explain why businesses everywhere should be taking notice of the SDGs, how supporting them presents an opportunity to gain the trust of stakeholders and society in general, and how they also offer a compelling strategy for business growth and innovation.
Open to leaders and senior managers of Manx-based businesses both large and small, this is a chance to find out more and learn why the Global Goals should not just inform CSR strategy but key business plans and decisions as well.
The event will be free to attend but tickets must be booked via Eventbrite. A light breakfast will be served from 7.50am with the talk beginning at around 8.20am.
The One World Centre is the current recipient of the Isle of Man Government's Development Education and Awareness Raising Grant and is a Manx registered charity.
