Dip into 2025!

Start 2025 with a community dip in Manx waters!

Start 2025 with a dip in Manx waters!

New Year’s Day dips are a community tradition in our Biosphere, where people quite literally run or jump in to the sea, often raising money for charity and celebrating community spirit. It’s a great way to start the year with a splash!

Many dips are organised to support local charities, offering a chance to give back while embracing the New Year. Whether taking part or cheering from the side-lines, the dips are a fantastic way to celebrate the New Year.

So why not take the plunge and make unforgettable memories this New Year’s Day?

Each year the dips take place in towns and villages across the Island, with some people attempting to do as many as they can get to! The dips are in Castletown, Ramsey, Peel, Port St Mary, Gansey, Port Erin, Laxey and Douglas.

Tips for dippers:

  • Bring warm, dry clothing for before and after the dip.
  • Bring a towel and hot drink to ward off the chill.
  • Most importantly, be safe - don’t go beyond your limits!
