The Isle of Man Farmers’ Markets have become a UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man Community Partner.
UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man’s Partnership scheme is inclusive of those who are striving for sustainability in their organisation and align with Biosphere aims and ambitions.
Since 2007 the Isle of Man Farmers’ Markets have been running in five different locations across the Island, offering an array of local produce available from Manx producers. They help reduce food miles and allow consumers to have full traceability of their products, as well as acting as a kind of social meeting place.
You can read more about the partnership here.
The Farmers’ Markets run every Thursday in St John’s Church Hall 11am to 3pm; every Saturday in Ramsey Courthouse 10am to 4pm; on the first and third Friday in the month in Village Walk Precinct, Onchan, 11am to 4pm; every third Sunday of the month at Colby Football Club between 11am and 2pm and the second Saturday of each month between April and November in Douglas Regent Street.
