Biosphere Partners Junior Achievement Isle of Man are launching an exciting new school programme, 'Challenge for Change', in April 2025 and is seeking 90 enthusiastic volunteers to participate.
This one-day event, held at various schools, will engage students in addressing pressing environmental issues such as food waste, fast fashion, energy inefficiency, and littering. Working in groups, students will employ creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions, culminating in presentations to a panel of local business leaders.
As a volunteer, you'll co-facilitate these challenges alongside another volunteer, guiding a group of students with the support of a teacher. Junior Achievement provides comprehensive training and resources to ensure you can effectively mentor students through structured activities, fostering their understanding of environmental issues and enhancing their collaborative abilities.
This initiative offers businesses an opportunity to support a programme aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, demonstrating a commitment to sustainability and inspiring future generations. Volunteering not only contributes to the community but also allows you to connect with young minds, empowering them to effect positive change.
The time commitment is from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, including lunch, on the following dates:
- QEII: 3rd April
- Castle Rushen: 23rd April
- St Ninian’s: 8th May
- Ramsey Grammar: 18th June
- Ballakermeen: 25th June
Join in this rewarding experience to inspire and empower students to make a difference in their world!
